Snowy Owl

As my mill and landscape images would indicate, I am not a wildlife photographer.  Nor do I own the necessary glass to be one.  I was, however, in the right place at the right time the other day, and came across this beauty just sitting on a branch waiting to be photographed.  I fortunately had my camera with me, and quickly slapped on my longest lens.  He sat for a few minutes, and I was able to get close enough to grab this shot before he flew away.  This image isn’t going to show up on an Audubon calendar anytime soon, but I thought it was at least worth sharing on my blog as it will most certainly be my first and only snowy owl portrait.

Have a great weekend.

You are so wise to have had your camera with you!!! That is an astounding shot. I feel the best wildlife photos represent exactly what you said “Right place at the right time…”
    Well done!!!
